Mark Hughes looks incredibly unhappy with his team as they leave the pitch and he has every right to be. After dominating possession for most of the match they've failed to score and their awful start to the season continues. Esteban Granero looked good for the R's in patches but Adel Taarabt was incredibly wasteful in front of goal and they remain in the relegation zone. In comparison Tony Pulis will be delighted with all three points today from a below-par Stoke performance. Matthew Etherington was dangerous in the first-half and Geoff Cameron played well in defence. Charlie Adam's winner was a well-taken goal and he'll be pleased to have opened his account for the Potters.

SLACK DEFENDING

Armand Traore tries to control a bouncing ball with his knee and it falls straight to Peter Crouch, fortunately for him Traore is able to recover. If we see another goal in this game, it's likely to come from a defensive mistake.

END TO END

Both teams are getting into good positions here but neither look particulary dangerous. Matthew Etherington gets a cross into the QPR box at one end that comes to nothing, then at the other end of the pitch Armand Traore does the same.

ANOTHER WASTED CHANCE!

Adel Taarabt sells a lovely dummy to go past Glenn Whelan and into the opposition box. Yet again he fails to direct his shot goalwards and the ball trickles wide.

QPR CHANCE

The R's could have equalised there! Adel Taarabt slides the ball through to Djibril Cisse but the pass is just beyond him. If he'd have controlled it he would only have had the goalkeeper to beat.

MORE ON THAT GOAL

Robert Huth puts in a cross from a deep free-kick which Jonathan Walters flicks on with his injured head across the face of goal, Peter Crouch touches it on to Charlie Adam and Armand Traore fails to cut the pass out. Adam hits it low and hard past the helpless Julio Cesar to give Stoke the lead.

BRIGHT START

Stoke have started brighter since the restart, Geoff Cameron makes a great run up the left-wing and gets a cross into the box. Unfortunately there's nobody there to meet it.

WALTERS HEAD INJURY

Both teams are unchanged after the break but Jonathan Walters has had four stitches in the head injury he sustained earlier on.

SECOND-HALF

We're back underway here at the Britannia Stadium.

HALF-TIME

It's been an interesting first-half here at the Britannia Stadium, QPR started very confidently and had the majority of possession for the first 30 minutes. They failed to capitalise however and let Stoke City back into the game. The chance of the half fell to Adel Taarabt at the death but his unnecessary chipped shot went hopelessly over the bar; QPR will need to start to convert their chances if they're to get anything from this game. Matthew Etherington has been impressive for Stoke down the left-wing and he looks likely to create more chances for the Potters in the second half.

Samba Diakite is the first man in the referee's book for a lunging challenge on Charlie Adam.

WASTED CHANCE

QPR break away and some neat passing produces the best chance of the half for either team. Junior Hoilett slides a lovely through-ball to Adel Taarabt who has only the goalkeeper to beat but he tries an audacious chip which sails over the bar.

HEAD INJURY

Ryan Shawcross and Peter Crouch both have a swing at a ball coming in from the left but neither can connect properly and the ball is cleared. Meanwhile, Jonathan Walters is down with a head injury which results in a lengthy stoppage.

CROUCH CHANCE

Steven Nzonzi gets forward up the right wing and cuts a wonderful pass back to Peter Crouch in the QPR box. His side-footed shot looks to have Julio Cesar beaten but Jose Bosingwa somehow gets a sliding block in to send the ball wide for a corner. That's the best chance of the game so far.

STOKE CHANCE

Jonathan Walters gets his head to a Geoff Cameron cross from deep. Walters beats Jose Bosingwa in the air but can't direct it goalwards.

STOKE PRESSURE

Samba Diakite gives away a careless free kick for a foul on Peter Crouch in the corner. The resulting cross is cleared by Julio Cesar to Charlie Adam whose low, driven shot is blocked by Esteban Granero. Stoke are beginning to have more of the ball and are looking more and more dangerous.

WAYWARD PASSING

Stoke's passing has been very poor so far today, even in their own half when under little pressure. They'll need to improve if they're to get anything from this game today.

QPR CHANCE

A low Jose Bosingwa cross is turned goalwards from a tight angle by Esteban Granero but Asmir Begovic gets his body in the way and it deflects behind for a corner.

CROUCH SHOT

Glenn Whelan and Jonathan Walters play some great passing football and get the ball to Peter Crouch who is on the left wing, he runs inside and has a shot from 25 yards which sails high and wide. Stoke are beginning to play with a bit more confidence.

WASTED OPPORTUNITY

Esteban Granero has time and space in the box and tries a chipped cross to Djibril Cisse who is being marked by two Stoke defenders and the ball floats harmlessly out of play. Despite dominating possession the R's are yet to trouble Asmir Begovic in the Stoke goal.

ETHERINGTON RUN

Matthew Etherington gets hold of the ball and charges down the left wing past one QPR midfielder only to run into Samba Diakite who takes the ball off him confidently.

QPR POSSESSION

The R's have had the lion's share of the ball so far in the first half and they've started very confidently with players like Esteban Granero dictating the play. Jose Bosingwa and Armand Traore are posing a threat coming forward from defence too.

ADAM CHANCE

Charlie Adam hits one from 25 yards which looks to be sneaking into the bottom corner of Julio Cesar's goal until it deflects off of Anton Ferdinand's calf. The resulting corner comes to nothing.

CISSE CHANCE

An Armand Traore cross from the left falls for Djibril Cisse, but his attempted volley is sliced high and Asmir Begovic gathers the falling ball easily.

STORMING RUN

Geoff Cameron goes on a fantastic run down the centre of the pitch. He eventually lays the ball off to Peter Crouch but the return pass is poor and the chance comes to nothing.

EARLY PASSING

QPR get a good early spell of possession in their own half. The Stoke fans are urging their team to put the R's under pressure.

We're underway here at the Britannia Stadium after a well observed minute's silence in honour of fallen servicemen.

Djibril Cisse will lead the QPR attack today with Junior Hoilett and Adel Taarabt supporting him. QPR will start with a very experienced defence including Anton Ferdinand and Ryan Nelsen. Ji Sung Park misses out again through injury.

STOKE CITY TEAM NEWS

Peter Crouch starts on his own up front for Stoke City in what looks likely to be a 4-1-4-1 formation with Steven Nzonzi sitting behind a midfield of Jonathan Walters, Glenn Whelan, Charlie Adam and Matthew Etherington.

REF WATCH

The experienced Martin Atkinson will take charge today at the Britannia. He's given out 30 yellow cards in eight Premier League games this season as well as one red card to Cheick Tiote in the Tyne-Wear derby.

QPR EARLY TEAM NEWS

Park Ji-Sung will be subject to a late fitness test having missed last weekend's game against Reading through a knee injury, while Andrew Johnson and Fabio both miss out through injury. Stephane M'Bia won't be available for the R's due to suspension.

STOKE EARLY TEAM NEWS

Summer signing Michael Owen is still out with a hamstring problem, as is Rory Delap who is undergoing a hernia operation. Marc Wilson is on the long term injury list having broken his fibula in Stoke's 0-0 draw with Sunderland in October.

QPR DESPERATE FOR IMPROVEMENT

QPR are without a win in ten games and they sit in 19th place in the league. Mark Hughes knows he has all the tools he needs to avoid relegation with experienced players like Julio Cesar in his squad. They'll face a tough test against Stoke today and picking up a win at the Britannia will be a big ask, especially considering their poor away form; the last time they picked up three points away from Loftus Road was against Stoke last season.

STOKE LOOKING TO CONTINUE UNBEATEN HOME RUN

Despite their relatively low league standing, Stoke are yet to lose at the Britannia stadium this season in the four matches they have played there. Their only win so far this season was a 2-0 victory against Swansea back in September and they'll need to start winning games to avoid being caught at the wrong end of the table at the end of the season. Stoke haven't scored in 212 minutes of football, which will worry Tony Pulis, their defence however is solid at home; they've only conceded once so far this season and that was against champions, Manchester City.

MATCH PREVIEW

QPR did the double over Stoke City last season, winning 1-0 at Loftus Road and 3-2 at the Britannia, but it's Stoke who have the higher league position going into today's fixture. The Potters are in 15th place while the R's occupy 19th. Both teams have had a poor start to the season and a win in today's game for either side could kick start their Premier League campaign.
