The final whistle goes and Norwich will be the happier of the two sides, having got a second successive clean sheet. The onus was on Reading to try and earn their first win of the season, but they failed to test John Ruddy in the Norwich goal. The hosts had a chance to close the gap on the sides above them, but have failed to take the opportunity. It's finished Reading 0-0 Norwich.
The visitors break forward through Alexander Tettey. The midfielder runs the length of the Reading half, but his shot lacks power and goes out for a goal kick.

Both sides are looking to open the scoring. Anthony Pilkington has a shot blocked by Kaspars Gorkss, before a Reading counter attack breaks down with a foul by Jobi McAnuff.
Norwich create a chance of their own. Anthony Pilkington crosses into the path of Robert Snodgrass, who loops his header over the ball and out for a goal kick. Both sides are looking for the opening goal as we approach the final stages.
Final change for Reading. Adam Le Fondre is on to replace Jason Roberts up front.
Reading break at speed through Jimmy Kebe. He takes the ball past Steven Whittaker, before crossing dangerously into the penalty area. John Ruddy is quick off his line to smother the ball and the visitors can clear.

Jay Tabb was hugely impressive last week against QPR and Brian McDermott will be hoping for a similar dynamic performance in midfield today. Norwich midfielder Bradley Johnson grabbed the crucial winning goal against Stoke last week, and the player will be hugely encouraged by the praise he has received from fans and manager. Set pieces could prove vital again this afternoon, and Johnson will be highlighted as a key danger by the Reading defence.
Questions were asked about Chris Hughton following a slow start to the season, but recent wins against Arsenal and Stoke have silenced any doubters and the club are feeling positive about pushing up the Premier League table. His side have yet to win away from home this season, and there will be a feeling amongst the visiting fans that today represents a perfect opportunity to end that run.
